Welcome to Athlete-IQ. By accessing or using our website, applications, tools, and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.
Acceptance of Terms
By using Athlete-IQ, you accept and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will indicate the date of the last update at the top of this page.
Services Provided
Athlete-IQ provides data-driven coaching and education for runners. Our services include: training and pace calculators (e.g. HR zones, pace zones, VDOT); dashboards and analytics for training load, readiness, and quality sessions; integration with third-party platforms such as Strava to sync and display your activities; manual entry of training data; goal-setting and race planning tools; educational content and blog; and, where offered, optional coaching or training plans.
We design our tools to support runners in structuring and optimising training based on repeatable inputs (e.g. pace, heart rate, consistency). Some features may require registration; we may offer free and paid tiers. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice where practicable.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. Athlete-IQ supplies the service to individual consumers only (business-to-consumer, B2C). We do not supply the service for business, commercial, or professional use. By using Athlete-IQ, you represent that you are a consumer, that you are in good health to undertake the activities you choose, and that you will use our services in compliance with all applicable laws. Our services are intended for personal, non-commercial use.
Account and Registration
Certain features require an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to update it as needed. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised access. We are not liable for loss or damage arising from unauthorised use of your account.
Third-Party Services and Integrations
Our services may integrate with third-party platforms (e.g. Strava) so you can sync activities and related data. When you connect a third-party account, you authorise us to receive and process data made available by that provider in accordance with their terms and our Privacy Policy. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their data practices. Your use of such integrations is at your own risk.
Your Data and Licence to Us
You retain ownership of the data you provide or that we receive on your behalf (e.g. training data, profile information). To operate and improve our services, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, process, and display that data solely to provide, maintain, and improve Athlete-IQ and as described in our Privacy Policy. We will not use your personal or training data for marketing by third parties or sell it to advertisers.
Medical Disclaimer
IMPORTANT! Athlete-IQ is not a medical or healthcare provider. Our tools and content are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Heart rate, pace, and other metrics we display are not a substitute for professional medical or fitness advice.
Before starting or changing any training programme, consult a qualified healthcare professional or sports physician. Training involves inherent risks, including risk of injury. You use our services at your own risk.
OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that our tools are fit for a particular purpose or that they will produce specific results. We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of our services or reliance on our content.
Intellectual Property
All content, designs, logos, software, and materials on or underlying Athlete-IQ are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from our service or content without our express written permission. You may use our service only as permitted by these terms.
User Conduct
You agree not to misuse our services. Prohibited conduct includes: attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code; using our services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose; transmitting malware or harmful content; interfering with the operation or security of our systems; scraping or bulk-downloading data beyond normal use; or creating multiple accounts to abuse features or circumvent limits. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms.
Subscription and Payment
Where we offer paid subscriptions or one-off purchases, fees will be stated at the point of purchase. You agree to pay all applicable fees. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel in accordance with the instructions we provide (e.g. in account settings). We may change prices with reasonable notice; continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law and any refund policy we publish. As a UK consumer, you have statutory rights in relation to digital content and services under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; nothing in these terms excludes or limits those rights.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Athlete-IQ and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill) arising from your use of or inability to use our services. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred pounds (GBP 100), whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Athlete-IQ, its affiliates, and their respective directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may stop using our services and close your account at any time. On termination, your right to use the service ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will remain in effect.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other mandatory UK consumer protection law. You may have the right to bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence where that right is given by law.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the parties' intent.
Entire Agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies or guidelines we publish in connection with the service, constitute the entire agreement between you and Athlete-IQ regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings. Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the revised terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may notify you by email or through the service where practicable. Your continued use of our services after the effective date of changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.
